I just got an exciting news today. Just recently I heard that the Blackberry Desktop Manager 6.0 Beta have been made available for download, thanks to our friends at the Driphter. This is a quick move from Driphter, since RIM opened the private beta of the Blackberry Desktop Manager not so long ago. Driphter have released the instruction on installing the new Blackberry Desktop Manager 6.0; so make sure you read it and follow the instruction below, if you want to try the Blackberry Desktop Manager 6.0.

Instructions from Driphter: All you have to do is scroll down to the bottom of the folder after you unRAR and run setup.exe. It’s pretty simple. When you first run it may seem like it’s hanging at the load screen, but it IS NOT. Just let it do its thing and you will be good to go.

How to Upgrade Blackberry Software via Wireless Update

The common way to update your device may be by downloading OS to PC then using Application Loader. But now there are several official OS updates so you get the option to select Wireless Update for updating. This option can be found in Options > Advanced Options > Wireless Update.

Once the latest update is available, an icon of Wireless Update will be shown in your device’s homescreen, alerts you to upgrade. When this happens, you can download the update then install it OTA (Over the Air) to your phone. But dont be shock if the process can be time consuming, but simple.

There are 2 parts of this updating:

* Download the update to the device
In this process, your device still can be used.

* Install the update
Here you cant use your device at all. This process is quite long time maybe it is about 1-2 h to complete.

As you might know, iPhone (3G, 3GS) has so many fans out there, and some of those fans are Blackberry phone users. I bet there are people out there who love the appearance of the iPhone 3G/3GS but prefer the performance of their Blackberry. Well, to find a win-win solution of this problem, here is an option for you, MyPhone v1.0 for Blackberry. An App that can bring iPhone feel to your Blackberry, whether it is the Pearl, Bold, Curve, and Storm. The creator told me that in the near future the MyPhone 1.0 for Blackberry will also support Tour and perhaps (I hope) Onyx

You can install the app by downloading it to your PC, connect your Blackberry and use the Blackberry Device Manager. Click on Application Loader, choose the MyPhone.alx and Install. Reboot and then you can find MyPhone icon in Download.

Here are the core function of the BBFileScout freeware:

BBFileScout is a file system browser for your BlackBerry® (including hidden files)
Create directories, copy, move, rename, or delete files
Zip files or complete directory structures
Extract Zip archives (incl. structures)
Copy and delete complete directory structures
Open all media files (supported by your BlackBerry®)

Some Blackberry users are complained about the LED lights. They found out that Blackberry’s LED light often blinking even there are no new or no unread messages. This problem has been examined by some expert at the RIM Geeks. They decided to do something that they believe could clear all of those LED light troubles. They developed the free LEDReset applications. This software would simply turn off the LED when you click the icon. The LED would simply off (and surely not blinking) until the user received a new message.

The LED would only on if the user received some messages, miss call, or any other stuff. This is a very perfect application to get you out of some blinking LED light troubles. Although the “blinking light” isn’t a serious trouble for your Blackberry, nut still this would be a certain bothering thing that surely would make you un-comfortable. The LEDReset is the ultimate application to get you the “blinking free” Blackberry.

You will be free if “blinking” LED lights even you don’t turn the Blackberry off completely. Surely this is a very useful application that could help you turn the LED off while you are not receiving anything. The Blackberry would simply off without you have to turn it off completely. Surely, turning off your device would be such an impossible thing to do considering there are so many important calls pr messages might need to be answered.

So here I am bringing all of you developers a good news Recently I heard that RIM has officially released the Blackberry JDE (Java Development Environment) Beta 5.0. It is now available to download

For all of those out there who are not familiar with JDE, the JDE 5.0 release means that software and apps developers out there can now start to develop new apps and software for the upcoming new OS 5.0. We can also bet that the release of this app also means that the OS 5.0 announcement will be here soon.

Well, this time there’s an interesting Blackberry App that works on Blackberry Storm and Blackberry running OS 4.3 or later that I want to share with you This App is called Memory Eye and it will help you to handle the memory issue on your Blackberry. Leaking memory faces you to another problems such as slower processor speed and if no memory left, with no prompting, your call logs, emails and calendar events will be deleted gradually. In this case, Memory Eye app will give you signal once your memory usage reaches its limit. Kinda cool, huh?

Ticketmaster. I believe that some of you are already familiar with this web app. This time Ticketmaster for Blackberry have been released and apparently it is a glorified browser shortcut/plugin with some added menu items and BlackBerry Wallet integration…

In truth it is just a regular mobile website that would work on any other device. Do you really need the wallet integration if TicketMaster just saved your payment information when you register?

Even the location setting does not have the option to use GPS in case you did not know the zip code.

Free Blackberry Storm Software Downloads: Talk Lock [Updated]

There’s a new free software for Blackberry Storm in town, people! I accidentally find this Blackberry Storm utilities software that will literally lock the screen of the Storm when you are calling. As you all might have known, the Blackberry Storm touchscreen remains active when you are making calls.

So this time I present you the Free Blackberry Storm Software named Talk Lock. This utilities freeware will lock your phone when you’re in a call to prevent accidental screen presses. Cool huh?

Here are some features of the Blackberry Storm’s cool freeware:

Automatically runs after installation, and on each reboot
Automatically activates after phone calls are connected
Automatically hides when phone calls are completed
Manual unlock with “slide to unlock” function
Menu item to re-engage lock after unlock
Customizeable backround image (uses /home/user/TalkLock-Background.png if it exists under Device Memory)

UPDATE: It seems that the TalkLock developers have chopped the word “free”. Too bad… The software is now priced at US$2.99. It’s still reasonable price for me… What do you think?
