Yep. You heard me right. What I have under is a pre-release Blackberry Tour 9630 review from our folks at the BGR. Sshh… They’re so lucky to get their hands on the new Blackberry Tour 9630, aren’t they? So they said that they have been playing with the new Blackberry Tour 9630 for all weekend, and after my short-but-frustrating waiting, it’s finally here…the Blackberry Tour 9630 review (pre-release)…

There are several aspects concerned in this Blackberry Tour 9630 review, and I will try to summarize the Blackberry Tour 9630 review from BGR for you, to make it more understandable :D So let’s just begin, shall we?

  • Blackberry Tour 9630 Hardware

So listen to this carefully: Blackberry Tour 9630 is actually Blackberry Storm with a QWERTY keyboard. It’s (almost) identical. Now, let’s go to the hard part; NO Wi-Fi. Darn. Even though there were rumors saying about Blackberry device with Wi-Fi…

  • Blackberry Tour 9630 Phone

What is the most important feature of a phone? camera? internet capability? Nope. It’s the voice calling. And the Tour 9630 have successfully made BGR team to say that it might be best phone we’ve ever used. The speakerphone and ear speaker are both awesome, they even excel beyond almost any other phone, ever. Add in Verizon’s network and you’ve got one bad ass piece of machinery.

  • Blackberry Tour 9630 Battery

The BlackBerry Tour 9630 uses the same battery as the BlackBerry Curve 8900 and BlackBerry Storm; a 1400mAh cell. Here’s the battery capacity:

  1. 4 hours of talk time
  2. 3 hours of video playback
  3. 8 hours of music playback
  4. 18 hours of light email, messenger, SMS, browsing.
  • Blackberry Tour 9630 Screen

The Tour 9630’s screen is another awesomeness. It’s like a plasma display with a glass lens over it. Colors are rich, sharp, and images are crisp. The Niagara have the same resolution with Blackberry Curve 8900 and Blackbery Storm, 480×360. However, there’s this black bezel around the LCD, making the screen a bit smaller than the Blackberry Bold.

  • Blackberry Tour 9630 Keyboard

The keyboard itself is the most comfortable and perfect QWERTY keyboard from Blackberry to date. It is a combination between the Bold and the Curve. The keys are a smaller version of the Bold’s with a bit more click like the 8900. However, some buttons are placed too close together. But overall it’s great :)

  • Blackberry Tour 9630 Size

Well, Blackberry Tour 9630’s size is a perfect blend between the BlackBerry Bold and the BlackBerry Curve 8900. It fits squarely in the middle. It feels great in your hand and is incredibly comfortable to use. It’s a bit thinner, less wide, and a bit shorter than the bold

  • Blackberry Tour 9630 OSand Browser

Think of 4.7.1 as the same OS the Storm uses minus the touchscreen. All the visual elements look the same — everything from highlights and gradients to slight UI changes –and even “gestures” work. We say that clearly not insinuating there’s a touch screen, but if you for instance scroll left or right in the media application for example, the photos will flick left or right. It’s a nice touch.

The browser has some issues, but hey, RIM still got many time to fix it :)

So overall, based on the Blackberry Tour 9630 review,  BGR predicted that this phone will be a hit. Can’t wait to get one :D
