Airtel Blackberry Curve 8520 in India: It is official


The Blackberry Curve 8520 (Previously known as the Blackberry Gemini) has finally reached India. One of the largest carrier there, Airtel, have announced that the Blackberry Curve 8520 will hit the India’s market on August 7 for 15,990 INR (about $336).

So, if you follow the news in this blog, you should be aware that the Blackberry Curve 8520 is the first Blackberry handset that features an optical trackpad, replacing the previous trackball.

To refresh your mind, here are some specs and faetures of the Blackberry Curve 8520:

  • Full QWERTY keyboard
  • Quad-band GSM/EDGE connectivity
  • 2.46 inch QVGA display
  • Wi-Fi
  • Full HTML browser
  • Advanced email capabilities
  • 2MP camera
  • 3.5mm headset jack
  • 1150 mAh battery (providing up to 4.5 hours of talk time, or up to 17 days of standby time)

Anyway, it is fun to know that RIM launches the Blackberry Curve 8520 in 2 separate countries (U.S and India) in relatively the same time :)
